Why should I get the Healing Denture Package?
It takes 9-12 months to heal after extractions. Because your gums and bone shrink drastically and immediate or temporary denture is worn for the first year during the healing process. The immediate denture allows you to come in on the day of surgery with your natural teeth and leave with your new smile.
Remember: When teeth are extracted, getting dentures for the first time is a process - not an event. Because of all the changes in your gums, you will need lots of follow-up care and attention during the healing process, the first 9-12 months. You will need adjustments, relines and eventually a new set of dentures. This is where the Healing Denture Package (HDP) comes in.
Your first set of dentures, called immediate or temporary dentures, will be worn during the healing process after having your teeth extracted.
Wearing a new denture takes some getting used to. Often an adjustment will need to be made to the denture to help buff out any place which may rub and cause discomfort.
As your gums and bone shrink during the healing stage, the denture will become too big. As part of the HDP, two temporary soft liners will be placed and a permanent hard reline. The liners help keep the immediate denture fitting as comfortable as possible.
After your gums and bone have had ample time to shrink and heal, then it will be time for your second or final denture. New impressions will be made for a new denture.
Whether you need one tooth replaced or all the teeth, McIntyre Dentures & Extractions is here to help you through this unique process. We have several HDP's from which to choose. Review our Price Sheet focusing on the HDP section for the dentures.
